Driver Literacy Eradication Project

Project executed with: Ministry of Interior - Cairo Security Directorate - Traffic Units

Project Goal: To eradicate illiteracy among drivers seeking to obtain a driving license from the General Traffic Department of the Ministry of Interior.

Training Strategy: The program is designed to be implemented on two strategies.

First Strategy: Direct Education

Direct teaching is provided to applicants in literacy classes at various traffic centers. The teaching is conducted by highly trained and competent facilitators through daily sessions for two weeks, each lasting 3 hours, where a curriculum specifically designed for drivers is taught.

An explanation of the educational platform they will use, how to use it, and all its interactions.

Strategy Two: E-Learning:

A platform for driver literacy: The learner logs into the platform for at least one hour daily according to a predetermined schedule. The platform can be used in one of two ways:

1. Mobile phone (smartphone): The platform is downloaded onto the driver's mobile phone, specifying the duration of platform use and the curriculum tailored for learning reading and writing. It can be used anytime and anywhere without affecting the driver’s work.

2. Computer centers spread across the governorates (cyber cafes): Utilizing computer centers located across the country (cyber cafes) near individuals who do not own smartphones, enabling them to complete the daily tasks required for literacy.

Daily follow-up of each student’s activities on the platform with the class facilitator to track the tasks and activities completed by the student.
